The Ninth Circuit has rejected a challenge to California’s groundbreaking new law requiring social media platforms to bolster privacy protections for minors, saying it doesn’t violate free speech. In the latest case to come to the bench, Judge Stephen Morris of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey has ruled that federal appellate courts should consider whether lower court decisions “are based on substantial evidence” and are “supportable in law or fact.”

The committee on open government may promulgate guidelines regarding deletion of identifying details or withholding of records otherwise available under this article in order to prevent unwarranted invasions of personal privacy.
